3D sidestroller with the joy of a 2D game. That's all I can say.

User Rating: 9.1 | Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil PS2
Klonoa 2 was my first rented PS2 game and when I started playing it, my mom returned it 4 days late, due to my addiction to it. The game starts out with our long-eared hero, Klonoa, being saved by two characters named Popka and Lolo. The whole game was made for puzzle solving and having the ability to learn about your environment. The graphics are extremely good for a game of such expert quality and despite it being made for kids, I, a 14 year old, am still loving this game. Klonoa's only weapons are like Kirby's, his own enemies. You can pick up a normal enemies and throw him into another to clear the path, all the way to grabbing a bomb enemy and racing it over to a barrier and making it explode on impact. What I adore about this game is the voice acting. It may be in Japanese, but that's why it's so great. You don't have to listen to this poor English voice acting like in animes brought to America like Naruto and One Piece. Boss battles are fun and challenging at the same time. In this game, it isn't just straight forward. You actually need to think to clear a stage. Same thing for bosses. The bosses always have a weakness. The levels are unforgettable. All the way from a carnival-like funland to a war-driven city where explosions at weddings mean "I do". Don't worry about controls. S.I.M.P.L.E. The only thing that bugged me though is the hover board levels. They were both very fun, but cheap at the same time. The board controls are slow and when you are trying to outrun falling statues, you usually end up losing a life. Despite that, the storyline and the plot are actually fairly deep for a game that is rated "E". The level, though, that killed the game's quality was the Hall of Memories. The whole level is filled with expert-leveled puzzles that you end up trying to solve for hours on end. Even though I beat the game, that is the one level I never play. How could I forget about the soundtrack? The music is actually enjoyable even for me and I am a Slipknot fan. Klonoa is indeed the best character for his time.
