A great remake of an original, with tons of variety and the same awesome gameplay that Kirby is known for.

User Rating: 9 | Kirby Super Star Ultra DS
This is pretty much the best kirby game out right now. It starts out as a few simple adventure titles, but eventually transforms into a game with a huge amount of content that kirby fans and newcomers will love.

The gameplay continues to be fun, with kirby running through multiple levels, avoiding dangerous obstacles, and sucking up enemies to obtain their powers. There is a wide variety of copy abilities in Super Star Ultra, including some new ones, such as mirror kirby and yo-yo kirby. Each copy ability seems to have been powered up since the last game, and more power is always a good thing, especially in this game. An impressive addition is the fact that you can obtain a copy ability, discard it, and it turns into an ally with that power. Being able to fight with a teammate is extremely useful, so be sure to take full advantage of that! The boss fights are some of the most challenging battles in any kirby game. While they may seem similar to other bosses in past games (and some are), they aren't to be taken lightly, and in some cases are fought one after another, so it's up to you to simply survive.

Basically, the game starts with one game open to play, which is Spring Breeze. This is a typical kirby adventure, and it acts as a tutorial (actually all the games open with a tutorial, which is helpful). By completing more and more games, you unlock additional games, mini-games (including some from past GBA titles), and movie clips. All the games consist of traditional kirby adventures, adventures with story and gameplay twists, an adventure with medaknight, treasure hunts, races, and boss fight challenges. With each new game, the difficulty continues to rise, and they're rated accordingly, so be prepared! With so much going on, it's almost impossible to get bored.

The graphics are great looking as always (the camera is a little more zoomed in than usual, but it's not a big deal), the sound effects are good, and the music continues to be catchy. Replay value is pretty big here, because it takes a good amount of time to unlock and finish all the games 100%, so you'll stay busy for awhile.

Overall, I had a great time finishing this game. Anyone can pick this up and have a good time with it. More simple, yet addictive gameplay is found here, so do yourself a favor and pick up a copy. Enjoy!
