A fun game that's pretty deep for Kirby...

User Rating: 7.3 | Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards N64
This game is a pretty good action platformer. You play as Kirby, trying to save the world once again from the forces of evil. The story arc consists of you traveling from planet to planet trying to pick up Crystal shards that have been strewn over the many worlds that Kirby's universe holds.

The graphics here are pretty good, and even though this is a 2D side scroller, there is an amazing sense of depth to each level because of the way the game looks. The sound is pretty good too, putting light hearted tunes together with some sound effects. Nothing great, but not bad either. But, the greatest part about this game is being able to suck up enemies and mixing and matching thier abilities so that Kirby can be all-powerful! By mixing these powers, you can make powerful attacks, and really put the hurt on some of the bigger bosses and enemies.

This game has some length to it too, especially once you beat it, and find out who the real evil villian is. There is some replayability too considering the fact that you have to get some combinations of creatures to get certain shard in earlier levels that you couldn't get before.

If you like Kirby, you're gonna have some fun with this N64 game. I have always kind of liked Kirby, and my brothers and I got this game one summer and played through the whole thing in about a week... once you start, it's hard to put down. The levels are designed well, the graphics are clean and, even though it's a very kiddy game, it's still a lot of fun. Check this game out for a good platformer and an intersting look at the Kirby universe in full 3d!
