Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning User Review

- The Bottom Line:
- "Immersive"
Besides the Elder Scrolls games, I never really got into RPG's. As I got older and started using game time as a way to immerse myself for relaxation, RPG's became my go to games. I've played a lot of them lately, and I must admit, each one did a good job of being different than the last.
Amalur is a rich, colorful, and large fantasy world that's as appealing to the eyes as it is to play. The tone is much less about realism like Skyrim, and much more inline with how you would imagine a true fantasy world to look and feel like. Every where you go interesting beasts lurk and quest giving gnomes or elfs live. The quests are far from indepth or meaningful like some other rpg's, but the combat is so good, it really doesn't matter. Awesome combos, powerful magic, and some of the coolest weapons and armor in any game. I cannot tell you how much awesome loot their is. Everytime I think i find an amazing weapon, another is found. All the weapons are so cool and feel so different, you will want to use them all. Another great bonus is how awesome the DLC is for Amalur. Each one is a mini-rpg game in itself. If you like God of War, Borderlands, and fantasy rpg's, this game is rock solid

People unanimously agree the combat is great, but is it? This is no Dark Souls.
