The look and feel of a great action game, with the mechanics and depth of a really good RPG.

This game deserves more than the 7.5 gamespot gave it. When you start playing it you think meh okay here we go, another cookie cutter action game rushed out the door with a splash of RPG elements here and there....That is wrong, shortly into it you realize whoa this is an actual GOOD RPG.

Their is a wealth of customization options, and a wide variety of skills and specializations. There is a great crafting system, there is a great alchemy system, etc etc everything you would want in a really good RPG. It has a really good loot system, with a wide variety of gear to always be looking for something better. I could go on and on, it delivers on things to do in the world.

The combat really delivers, it is easily the best combat in any RPG i have played, the enemies are great too, they look great and there is a great variety to them, fun combat cant praise it enough for an RPG.

Now, for some not so great things. I have to be honest I prefer a more realistic looking game, it is cartoonishy, it does look like Fable got Nasty with WOW and made this baby they named Amalur. It doesnt take away from the game too much but I would have like a grittier looking game.

The quests are really just fetch quests, there are no epic side quests, so far all i have encountered are just go here kill this get this come back...Kind of lame, lame to the point that I just skip all the dialogue because what is the point.

The world is quite large, and it is open however....it doesnt FEEL open as the worlds do in skyrim or oblivion for example....The since exploration isnt there in this game, you will encounter a cave here or there but its kind of a bland looking world that feels almost like your in a studio reproduction of an outdoor setting, weird description but it feels like that to me anyways.

The camera is not annoying but for the love of god the ability to zoom out would have been a great addition it feels too zoomed in.

There are little things here and there that detract from the game but I have no hesitation recommending this game at all, I am really enjoying it.
