Kingdom Hearts was an instant classic for PS2 and is a masterpiece that should forever be remembered.

Mixing together the anime grit of Square Enix and Final Fantasy with the world of Disney might seem like a doomed idea on paper. Many people thought this when the first announcements of Kingdom Hearts were made (myself included). It gladdens me to say that Kingdom Hearts is a game that will stay with you long after the adventure has come to a close.

Moments like first arriving in Traverse Town not really knowing what the hell is going on; finally figuring out the God-forsaken puzzle known as Wonderland; defeating Clayton and his stealth-steed; battling Hercules, Hades, and the titans in the Olympus arena; wandering through the city streets and treasure temples of Agrabah; dealing with those pesky minions of Oogie Boogie in Halloween Town; helping Gepetto reunite with Pinocchio; swimming through Atlantis as a merman; struggling through the grounds and halls of Hollow Bastion Castle; and, of course, finally reaching the end to face appearingly unsurmountable odds and reaching the end of the journey to witness one of the greatest and most emotionally gripping endings to a video game that I have ever exerienced.

Kingdom Hearts soars in the areas of story, graphics, voice acting, soundtrack, level variey, characters, weapons, and length.

That said: the dialogue is pretty cheesy half the time and the option to skip cutscenes would have been most appreciated for when I had to watch the five-and-a-half minute long scene before fighting young Riku (which I had to do about twenty something times before finally beating him.)

Kingdom Hearts is an incredible game. If you are interested in RPG style games or are curious about this one in particular than I strongly suggest you give it a shot. Though, I can't guarantee that it will be for you. Get past some of the corny dialogue and attempt to take the game seriously for what it is and you may be surprised by what you find.
