A game consisting of both Square and Disney's greatest characters, this is one ride no one will ever forget.

From the start, there were only previews of the game itself and even those previews were hard to obtain in english. From when Kingdom Hearts was announced, many were interested already from what Square's next project was, and how it had to do with Donald and Goofy.

It was surprising that the great creators of the Final Fantasy series actually decided to make an RPG of this sort with Walt Disney's characters and brought it together to make one very great game with quality and a sense of superior fantasy.

As the start of this game, when the main character Sora is introduced, I was already amazed by the beauty and texture of the art designs made. As you continue playing, the game unfolds into a very deep and interesting story about Sora along with more environments that will amaze you. What's more great is how the beginning of the game starts.

What starts off the game is that Sora is a 14 year old teenager who lives on one of Kingdom Hearts worlds; Destiny Islands. As Sora grew up there, he had always been with two of his friends, Riku and Kairi. Due to Riku's lust for adventure, the three began making plans on leaving the island by means of a raft they were bent on building.

On the night they completed the raft, a storm began to rage and a dark force invaded the islands. Sora, concerned about the raft, ran outside only to find that Riku and Kairi had gone missing. Eventually Sora meets up with Riku and accepts his fate with the darkness.

Riku's form vanishes and Sora is branded the keyblade, a weapon meant to protect light and shatter darkness.

That opening was just barely what got me riled up to play this game more. What I loved the most was probably how the battle system played, sure it wasn't all complicated and the overall enemies are pretty easy to handle but the fact that it's all fast paced is great. With enemies swarming and respawning in the same areas, it can get fun but also rather repetitive.

Although that doesn't bother me, some players may have to give the game another chance before they can really feel the greatness from this game alone. Not too strong, not too weak, this games balance makes it one of the best in my collection, not to mention that Square(enix) is my favorite company also made this wonderful game makes it two times better.

Another thing to note is that if anyone has ever played the Final Fantasy series (which a lot of people have) then you'll be more happy than ever to see the great Cloud Strife (FFVII) and Squall Leonhart (FFVIII). Although they are amazing characters, they don't play much in the story line too much, but they provide their service every now and then for Sora. They aren't the only FF characters that are in this game, there's also Aerith (FFVII) Yuffie (FFVII) Cid (FFVII) and moogles (various FF), along with Sephiroth (FFVII)

The way you travel the world of Kingdom Hearts is by the use of a gummy ship, which isn't all that great since it's a low system of third person air plane shooter. But you cannot access the gummi ship until you have met Donald and Goofy.

Traveling from world to world allows you to complete Sora's main quest, (find Riku and Kairi) and in places you search, they are all world's made in Disney's animation movies. Mainly, there isn't much to introduce if you have seen all the Disney movies already such as "The Little Mermaid" or "Hercules". These movies host their own world in Kingdom Hearts, which brings out the games true heart.

Overall, I'm happy to be in a generation of Kingdom Hearts to be part of my gaming life. I'm satisfied more than ever and cannot wait to write my review for the sequel to this game.

I hope you enjoy the game with all your heart, it blew me away, that's for sure.
