Twelve years ago, if somebody told me that there would soon come a day where Disney characters and deep R.P.G. video game series would become a HUGE success, I would have laughed my head off! Now, 11 years and five video games later, the people at Square AND Disney did the seemingly impossible; take two TOTALLY different concepts, combine them into one, and create a MASSIVELY successful blockbuster franchise in the process! :D Although I have yet to play any other "Kingdom Hearts" video game all the way through, it thankfully isn't necessary to play any of the prior entries to this series, although it certainly does make some of the back-story more coherent. :) This video game pulls out ALL the stops in showing off high resolution video game graphics, music, story, and voice-acting samples! 8) This is the way the story goes in the video game. After having completed two journeys; one to keep darkness from spreading and the other to re-unite hearts to the people who have lost them, it seems that the many quests that Sora and his friends had taken in the past is all in the past and there's nothing left to accomplish. The one major problem is that the contents in the book of the first journey is almost completely blank! Blank until a mysterious new message appears in the book! Mickey and his cohorts have no idea who wrote the message into the book, and they don't know what it means without having access to any other clue BESIDES the book! :!: Mickey however, knows that the contents of an entire book just can't completely disappear! Just because they don't SEE what was written in the book, doesn't mean that the contents AREN'T there anymore. Mickey and the others decide to digitize the contents of the journal, and see the worlds contained within it in a virtual matter and manner. But something unexpected occurs when that happens; bugs appear in the journal, making it impossible for Mickey and the other to decipher it from the outside! Thankfully, Mickey has a Plan B; have someone who is already INSIDE the journal vanquish the bugs from within, and clear the contents so that the mystery behind the message can be discovered. Enter Data Sora, who awakens into a journey that will reveal there's a new adventure ahead, waiting for Mickey and the REAL Sora. Data Sora must travel through eight worlds in order to help out every single digital person or THING that needs helping out, there's Destiny Islands, Traverse Town, Wonderland, Olympus Coliseum, Agrabah, Hollow Bastion Part I, Hollow Bastion Part II, and Castle Oblivion. Along the way, Sora will re-meet some familiar and some not-so-familiar faces, including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Chip and Dale, Yen Sid (if 20 or more trophies are collected by meeting certain conditions,) Huey, Duey, Louie, Cid and Cloud Strife from "Final Fantasy VII," Alice, the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat, the White Rabbit, Hercules, Philoctetees, Hades, Cerebus, the Rock Titan, the Ice Titan, Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, Jafar, Iago, the Genie, Pete the Cat, Maleficent, a Data version of Riku, and even Sora's Heartless; AKA Roxas! There are many different challenges available to face, plenty of adventures to go on, and no shortage of quests available for Sora to tackle! It's very easy to get immersed in this game, not only because there's so much to see and do, but because the game is very fun besides all that! The leveling up system and Command Power-ups are easy to master with a bit of learning, and there's a variety of spells and attack moves available for Data Sora to learn so that he can pound some sense into ALL the evil bad guys! Plus, the game never feels TOO overwhelming or too hard to accomplish by ANY stretch of the imagination! 8) It is a VERY entertaining and worthy entry into the "Kingdom Hearts" video game series, and I highly recommend it for people who own a Nintendo DS or Nintendo 3DS video game system! Enough said, true believers! ;)
