Kingdom Hearts II was a great improvement from the original, but many problems still remained.

User Rating: 4.2 | Kingdom Hearts II PS2
I actually did play Kingdom Hearts II all the way through, which is amazing considering all the problems it had. I didn't keep playing it for much, but it did have its addicting aspects.

Gameplay:
Kingdom Hearts II had better gameplay than its predecesor, but there were still many problems. It was a little too simple, and got very annoying since whenever you get hit your action stops. I don't mind a challenge, but if it's annoying I can't stand. And the aspect of going to different worlds seems fun, bun in reality it sucks because each world has a distracting story that takes you away from the boring, unoriginal main one. This is proof that this game has no originality because all it worked on was the sub stories that were already Disney and made.

Graphics:
Pretty good, but the faces looked dead most of the time. I don't know the exact terminology, but there was a worse looking face for non-close-ups, and one for when expressing expressions and stuff. Sora's bad one was awful, while the other's were pretty good. And they could have at least made Sora's better since he was, like, the main character! There also could have been a lot of more detail and less kiddiness.

Sound:
Horrible. I hated pretty much all the music in KHII; the mood was totally wrong for everything, and it was too childish. It was just so bad. I barely listened to any of it.

Value:
Once I beat it I didn't pick it up again. I just couldn't stand playing more of the repetetive, simple, boring, and annoying keyblade bashing any longer.

Tilt:
Bad. I didn't like this game. The only thing that kept me playing was the anticipation of new abilities, because that was the only fun part of the game. Everything else was horrible.

Story:
So terrible I can't believe it even has one. It is so simple and boring and stupid and there are many plot holes. It is also undeveloped, which bores the heck out of me. There are many parts that could have been expanded on, but instead that time was spent on the horrible other worlds that had their own story, and just distracted you from the main one and pretty much had no point. If this were a real category it would get a 1.

Overview:
KHII is better than the original, but the big mistakes still remain. The annoying battle system, the different world aspect, and the horrible story still bring it down. I wouldn't bother playing this game unless gaining new abilities and customizing them really intrigues you.
