User Rating: 9.2 | Kingdom Hearts II PS2
Without giving away too much of the story, Kingdom Hearts II is a story about a young boy, Sora, is is still on a journey to find out what happened to his friends Riku and Kairi. Sora and his friends,Donald and Goofy, go to different Disney worlds to help solve various conflicts and also find out a little but more about where his friends are and how he can get them back. Sora is up against Organization XII who's main plan is to take away all hearts.

This game is fairly easy so there isn't too much to the game play. KHII is basically a button masher....but in a good way. One thing that is new to the game is the reaction button (the triangle button). When fighting certain enemies the triangle button will appear on screen which means you have a certain amount of time to pull off a specialty move. You are given ample time to press the button so it isn't such a challenge. Also the gummi ships are back. I not a big fan of the gummi ship levels but I will say that they are much better than the first game. There is also the Atlantica world (Little Mermaid) where there is no combat at all. In Atlantica you are doing nothing but rhythm games. It is a bit on the boring side but I enjoyed the story.

The graphics are very impressive. There are many cut scenes in this game so you get to enjoy all of the beautiful Disney worlds such as The Pride Lands, Alantica, Hollow Bastion, Olympus Coliseum, Port Royal and a couple more. All of the worlds follow the stories of the movies. The music is also spectacular. Im not sure about everyone else but I am a big Disney fan so I enjoyed humming along to the music. The voice acting is right on point. Although in the beginning of the game the acting is a little chessy in Twilight Town.

One gripe that I had with the original game was that the camera was just plain horrible. Fortunately this situation has been fixed. It feels a lot smoother during combat and also less frustrating.

A lot of people think this game is only for children. I will admit there are times in the game where I just couldn't believe I was playing it because I felt like a kid (that was only on the 100 Acre Wood world). But for the most part I don't really think a younger kid will really understand the story. Not to mention they really won't appreciate the appearances from different Final Fantasy characters.

Kingdom Hearts II is a great sequel to a great game. The story, graphics and voice acting are all top notch. Even though it feels like a button masher and at times a little too kiddy (100 Acre Woods) it is a still a must buy for anyone who enjoys get presentation in a game.
