When you make a video game you must have a strong story. The characters are the most important part of the story and developing them makes the player connect to them and feel for them. That is exactly what 358/2 Days does right.

The story revolves around Roxas, one of the characters from Kh2 and Sora's Nobody, and takes place at the same time as Chain of Memories (CoM) and between CoM and Kh2. It tells of how Roxas got into Organization XIII, how he became friends with Axel, shows a couple of the Organization's secrets and reveals the story of the mysterious 14th member of the Organization, Xion. I must award the story of this game for it's character development. The game is long and you get to know Roxas, Axel and Xion as people, feel they're pain and start to wish for a happy ending. Then when the game ends you simply cry.

The gameplay is nearly exactly the same as in the original Kingdom Hearts. Hack-and-slash combat, simple magic spells and equippable items. However instead of a simple level up system you get a completely different one. To equip weapons, magic, items and even to level up you have to equip a certain panel in a panel system. In order to level up you must equip a level up panel which you earn when you get enough experience from completing missions. You can still buy and synthesize items such as weapons and equipment.

I honestly can't review this game without mentioning the fantastic Multiplayer. Up to 4 players can team up and complete missions together and play as they're favorite Organization XIII member. That's right you can play as Organization XIII members. The multiplayer is accessed in Mission Mode and you can also select single player and finish the missions yourself.

The replay value is big just like any other Kingdom Hearts game. You can still complete extra missions, collect chests and finish old missions 100% in order to unlock secret characters in Mission Mode. There are also plenty of weapons and items to synthesize.

Overall, 358/2 Days is one of the best RPGs on the DS and if you have a DS i recommend this game immensely. It also has one of the most beautiful stories i have ever seen in a video game and trust me it will touch you're heart.
