~One of the better beat-em-ups!

~All right, as I'm sure all of you know, there's lots and lots and LOTS of beat-em-ups, and to tell the truth many of them can be very entertaining, most notably the old Arcade TMNT and X-Men games. Even some of the, ahem, "less professional" like Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja and Sunset Riders can offer some form of quick fulfillment. King of the Monsters 2 rises above those slightly neglectable titles to sit up with some of the most entertaining of beat-em-ups. The fact that it's giant monsters rather than the ninjas or cowboys who fill most of these games makes it a little more interesting, and powerups as well as interesting moves and violence make it a little more fleshed out than many. There are two attack buttons and a jump button, not an unheard of button, but having a punch in a kick is still suprisingly higher than most games. There is also a grapple for each of these buttons, making for some massive damage. The game is mostly about the boss battles, and teaming up on them with your friends at the arcade makes for some damn good fun. The game is pretty damn difficult, but if you're playing on MAME a few quick "coin insertions" can get you through the game pretty reliably. In short, if you're only going to play 3 beat-em-up games as long as you live, this should be one of them.
