For those of you who are more familiar with the traditional King Of Fighters series, This is not what you would come to expect from KOF. The gameplay is almost alien to that of it's classic 2D counterparts. However, that is not nessessarily a bad thing. To start, the combos are faster and longer. Pulling off a pretty impressive six hit combo with characters like K' and Ryo are no problem thanks to the command list that includes a number of "stylish moves" that you can use in combonation with Deadly moves as well as DOA Thrashing. The only real fault to the gameplay would be that you can corner the other player and continue to lay them out untill they can either make a successfull recovery or preform a cancel. (Witch can prove to be dificult) And althought this game is a 3D game, I wouldn't put it in the same catagory as other 3D fighters like Dead Or Alive or Teken. The liniar gameplay would be more compareable to most 2D fighters, much like the Street fighter EX series, although we all know that the Street Fighter EX was crap. The dificulty was fair durring regular battles with the computer on story mode. Sometimes you would have to pull yourself out of a tight spot to take the win, but it wasn't anything out of the norm for a solid fighting game. However, fighting Duke at the end can be a chore, concidering that he is invincible while preforming his DOA Thrashing moves. Well overall this game is a pretty solid fighter. Old school KOF fans may not be able to appreciate this style of fighting game, but it gives the series a much needed change. If this game does well, the sequal may be better. Oh and I forgot to mention the biggest fault.......... The English dubbing is crap!!!
