A solid FPS for the ps2.

User Rating: 8 | Killzone PS2
So I just finished up the campaign on Killzone 1, and it was very enjoyable. It's about 7-10 hrs long and has replay value. You get companions along the way, and at the beginning of each chapter you get to choose which one to play as. Each character has their own special thing about them too. Templar is the main character and carries the standard ISA rifle with grenade undermount. Rico is like a human tank. I noticed that he tends to take more damage, and carries a big rapid fire chain gun that has a rocket launcher mounted on it. Luger is the stealth assassin. She can slip through vents or cracks in walls to find different areas to flank enemies silently. She carries a silenced machine pistol and a knife. Both weapons kills without alarming the enemy. Hakha is half human, half helgan. He is a spy for the ISA forces. He is better with Helghast weapons than other characters (mainly better accuracy with the standard Helgan assault rifle/shotgun undermount) and can slip past helgan laser tripped mines. He equips the standard Helgan assault rifle/shotgun undermount.
Story wise, the game is decent. It takes a while for the story to get interesting. It starts slow, and towards the end the game picks up pace with more helghast and helghast that are harder to kill. Its decent for a old school FPS on the ps2.
Other than campaign, the game has online multiplayer, and offline multiplayer. Offline multiplayer can be split-screen, has AI bots, and has a ton of customizations for each match.
The game's graphic's are well done on the ps2. But he game does have a few flaws/glitches which are mainly graphical glitches. Nothing game breaking though. You can also fully customize the controller button configuration, and the analogue sensitivity too.

If you have a ps2 and like FPS games, then I'd recommend you getting this game. It has replay value, offline split screen multiplayer with AI bots, decent lengthy campaign which can be played in many ways due to the characters you can choose to be, online multiplayer which I belive still has players. At the low price it is at, there isn't anything to lose. It's a good buy.
