Underrated, why are you all complaining?

User Rating: 7 | Killzone: Shadow Fall PS4

Killzone has been around for at least a decade now. It has been trying to compete with Halo but ultimately failing to do so and yet finding it's way into Sony fans hearts. I enjoyed Killzone 2 so much and Killzone 3 almost as much. KZ1 was ok but it was a glitch ridden mess. Killzone Shadowfall however has had met much disregard. Many reviewers and fans where at the backlash of it's story and gameplay. However I loved it and heres why.

STORY

Killzone Shadowfall takes many years after the great Petrusite holocaust of Helgan when 3 jerk wads blew it up and never looked back in Killzone 3. Now they must colonize on Earth.. By force! So now Helgan is in a political fight where it's segregated. But now theres a world domination plot. You play as a character who is basically faceless and his name is Lucas Kellen. He must fight against the Helgan uprising. The story is underdeveloped. But that's ok because it was never.

GAMEPLAY

Killzone Shadowfall is a next gen FPS with stealth elements. You get an open ended setting mostly where you can solve several objectives and complete jumping puzzles. It's quite diverse and fun. Platforming is quite intuitive. The game has little urgency compared to the previous robust explosion grit and edge filled Killzones. But you are a Shadow Marshall after all, so being a light Spy is the name of the game. The AI is all good. They have several classes

The Stealth is rather undetailed in this game. There isn't much to do except for crouch under grass. The cover system has been dulled down.

The controls are very ninja like and feel like a dream.

The weapons are light and satisfying. With lazer sights and more.

One of the most frustrating things about KZSF is the OWL. Yes, this little floaty thing hovers behind your back and it shoots things and sheilds you but is far too stupid to. It scans thing but that implies you take advantage of the gimmick that the PS4 gives you. It's so annoying. You need lots of patients.

If you get bored of that there's a nice Multiplayer segment. In which I have underexplored but I can't imagine it being much different than they previous fun Killzone tournaments.

GRAPHICS

In terms of visuals, Killzone Shadowfall is a visual spectical. Everything you see is... is.. just fucking lovely! I looked at everything and theirs nothing I don't like. Everything is shiny, smooth, clean, and fast. The beautiful jagged sci fi art style dazzled me as well as it's unbelievably gorgeous lighting effects. The smooth world. The PS4 right here and right now has just been proven to be a powerhouse.

SOUND

Lets be honest Killzone 2 had a great soundtrack. As well as 3. However Killzone Shadowfall is ok in terms of OST it's nothing but an endless loop of tense dubstep and stuff. There is no rythm or melody. It's just boom boom bwwwwwwwwwwallmm! Boom ricky ticky tick tick!

Gun noises are mostly just quiet and ok. Not too satisfying. VA is ok I guess.

OVERALL

Killzone Shadowfall is worth it if you want spectical for a cheap price.
