At first, it is one of the best PSP games to be released, afterwards, it is a fun and frustrating game!!!!!

User Rating: 8.6 | Killzone: Liberation PSP
I played this game and I was really impresed by it.

Gameplay: If you played the Killzone game on the PS2, then you will probaly know where does the story takes place. If you don't, then I will tell you. The story takes place in the future where a solo goverment called Helghast led by a general want to destroy the world. You play as Templar, a soldier in the army of the human kind and your job is to stop them. In the game, you have many modes. One of them is of course the story mode which has four different worlds to play in and each world has four levels. The difference between this game and the PS2 version is that the game is in third person mode and this game doesn't envolve only on the action. You actually have to think about each step you do in the game because if you make a mistake, you will die and let me tell you that you will die many times in this game. In the story mode itself, you have many weapons, grenedas and viechles to use. As you go throught the game, you unlock more and more weapons and other stuff that you can equip your solider with at the beginning of the level and not have to run around looking for boxes. In the game, you will sometimes have partners in the missions. When you do, you can press the up direction button and then it will open a menu which you can tell him to go to a certain place, kill a certain target or put some mines and bombs. This is really cool because you can order him to put a bomb or a mine and then you will have to cover him which is really fun. The lock on feature works must of the times but sometimes it doesn't work when you really need it. When you are fighting against a giant robot and you simply must have the lock on feature to shot a specific part of the robot, it shoots you some other parts instead of the part you want and that is kind of frustrating. And speaking of frustrating, this game is really difficult and frustrating. Like I said before, you will die many times. Even when you can change the difficulty from easy to normal to hard, it still very hard. The controlls in this game works really nice and the camera angles are good but rarely it doesn't follow you but that doesn't really hurt the gameplay itself. The other modes that are in the game are challenge mode which is basiclly doing the whole storymode once again but you will have challenges like finish a mission in a certain amount of time or finish a mission without dying so now even the hardcore gamers will be challenged by the challenge mode. Download mode is where you can download updates like more weapons and more maps but the best part of this will be that in a few weeks or months, there will be an update for infrastructure which will be really awesome. You have also a link to Killzone.com and of course the option mode which let you save, change the difficulty and other stuff. The loading times in this game are really great and the frame rate is raelly smooth which is good. For the other modes go to "value" in my review.

Graphics: The graphics in this game are some of the best graphics you will find on the PSP. The environments are unbelivible with the water, fire and wind effects as well as the weapon effects and of course the buildings and other environmentel spots, the characters models look really nice and the menu looks really nice. The frame rate is really smooth in this game so you can play a lot without the frame rate bothering you. I forgot to mension that the cutscenes look really awesome especially the cutscene of the beginning.

Sound: The sound in this game is really well done. The voiceovers are really good especially the guys that say " be gone a****** ", the sound effects of the weapons and grenedas are really good and the music really fits to the atmosphire of the game which is war in the future.

Value: You can play this game for hours and hours trying to finish the game. The storymode is really long and there are many unlockables like weapons and grenedas which you can unlock as you play throught the game. Like I said before, the game is really hard so it will take you time to finish it especially with the addition of the Challenge mode whice you need to play the story mode once again but this time you have some challenges so that will keep you busy. If you remembered earlier, I told you that in this part of the review, I will tell you about the rest of the modes that are in the game so here we go. Except all the modes that I mentioned earlier, you have ad-hoc mode up to 6 players. In this mode you have all kinds of modes like Death match, capture the flag and team match which are really fun. You also have besides ad-hoc, coop mode which you and your friend can actually play the storymode together which is really cool because it is like the partner that I mentioned earlier but intead you have your friend. The only problem that there is with this part is that there is no online mode. But, as I mentioned earlier, the Download mode will feature the online mode which you can download in a few weeks or months so it is worth waiting for.

Reviewer's tilt: Overall, Killzone Liberation ends up to be one of the best shooters to be found on the PSP. With many modes to play in such Ad-hoc, co-op multiplayer and challenge mode, the game will give you many reason to play the game over and over again. Online doesn't feature in this game but we hope that the Download mode will give us this feature in just a few weeks. Althought the game is really hard and sometimes frustrating, the game covers for it with all the modes. If you like shooter games, go buy this game and if you played already Killzone for the PS2 and wondering if to get this game or not, buy it and get ready for a different and better gameplay.
