Huge disappointment.
I started to worry a little when I spent some time playing the closed beta. Gone were some of the things that really made the series great. Thing's like spawn grenades, spawn on squad leader, great in game squad feature, prox chat, reduced player count, run stamina, and custom servers. But I had faith that GG would turn the game around and patch a few of the things that were missing upon game release, or soon after.
So I pre-ordered the game, the first time I've ever done that..likely will be the last time I ever do that as well. To say Killzone 3 is huge disappointment is an understatement. The game (online) feels nothing like Killzone 2 did. Most games come down to whoever nabs the tsp's first wins. I spent more time camping other teams and spawn points then actually playing the warzone objectives. The matchmaking system was also a broken. Most games pitched one side usually being outnumbered being base raped. With out the ability to spawn off a squad leader or spawn grenade you're pretty much hosed.
Another thing that really put me off was that not all game modes are available to all the maps...I just can't stand that. And what only 3 maps with operation mode? Gee that won't get old fast.
The one thing that might have saved this turd of a game for me was the clan feature. I LOVED Killzone's 2 clan system, easy to use, very active, lots of features, clan battle search feature, it was awesome. Killzone 3's clan system is as broken as the game. GW matches turn into a game of hide seek with cloaked snipers hiding waiting for that first kill...then hide the rest of the match. Other times playing warzone only to matched against a team 1 more players..pure garbage.
If you've never played Killzone 2 you'll probably think this game is great. Unfortunately for me I played the hell out of Kz 2, Kz 3 couldn't compare.
