Exhilarating. Fans of the series can't go wrong with KIllzone 3

User Rating: 9 | Killzone 3 PS3
Killzone 3, to me, is an absolute must have for any ps3 owner. It has slick combat, state of the art graphical design, and a very enjoyable multiplayer. It will keep me coming back for quite awhile.

Gameplay: The gameplay is absolutely addictive. The weight of the weapons feel as though they are in your hands, and each an every weapon sports an amazing amount of detail. Cover works pretty well, although sometime awkward. Melee kills are very satisfying, and amazingly brutal (had me wincing in disgust for most of them).

Graphics: What can I say? The attention to detail is amazing. Everything feels pretty realistic, and these graphics have set the bar for console gaming (keyword console). The lighting effects are amazing too. Much better than Killzone 2 in fact because its not so grey and bland. You have awesome levels like the Helgan Jungle, and the amazing use of snow effects.

Sound: Explosions sound terrific, and weapons sound spot on. The soundtrack is really nice and helps the tension of set battle pieces.

Story: This is where this game falters a bit. I feel that the story is not anywhere near awful, like gamespot mentioned, but it does tend to get in the way when your all juiced up on blasting some helgast. The pacing is pretty bad, but all in all I felt it wasn't the most horrible thing I've been through while playing a campaign. The ending was pretty disappointing and really made me go "Really? It ends just like that huh?" Seems as though they are leaving it open for a another Killzone though, because if not....wow.

Multiplayer: While not perfect (have yet to play a game that has perfect multiplayer), this is probably the most addicting. It looks great and the levels feel perfectly balanced. The class system is really fun, but the leveling up system is nothing new to people who have played many multiplayer games.

Controls: The controls are tight and much better than Killzone 2's. There doesn't seem to be that small amount of lag when you go to look down the sights and fire. They have cleaned up the controls and everything flows really nicely.

All in all Killzone 3 is a great addition to the series and also any ps3 fans game library. Its addictive and looks amazing for a console game. Its a $60 that I feel as though I'm getting every penny out of it.
