A great shooter, with solid graphics, story and gameplay.

Killzone takes place right after the second game. It takes the main characters trying to retreat and getting home After assassinating the head of the Helghast. This turns out to be not as easy as they first thought. The Helghast are actually having new plans of attacks and it is your task to save the earth together with your fellow ISA soldiers. The different characters have their own morales and they do constantly question the decision through the game coming from command and questioning their own judgment. The game makes a good job creating a good story that has substance in a genre where it unfortunately lacks.

The gameplay is really solid and works very well. From the melee to the shooting itself. It's as solid as you can get it in a shooter. The cover mechanics work and the movement is fluent and you rarely get stuck or have problems going where you want to. Even platforming section of the game were really well made and changed the pace of the game. The shooting mechanics are also really solid and it gives you gratifcation when you manage to take down enemies when they come charging towards you. The enemies also take cover try to charge you will giving cover. The AI is smart even on easier levels, and don't feel stupid when playing the story. The cover mechanic works and doesn't feel like you are stuck to the wall, but you can move freely and as fast as you want. The game is linear, it might not be an open world game. But it does allow you to use cover and use the enviroment in any way you want. It doesn't force you to just use one weapon or one cover.
The multiplayer is solid and the modes can give players several different ways to explore the game. The gameplay in multiplayer is also very solid and is well made.

The graphics of this game are really well made. Going from alien mountains and nature to dead swamps with destroyed buildings and dead nature. The locations are really colorful and are distinctively different from each other. The technical aspect of the game has been really well done in this game. I did not have any issues with framerates or texture problems whatsoever in this game. It shows. It is stunning to look at through the entire game.

The voice over in this game is solid. The three main characters have excellent voice over, this goes also for the villains. The villains aren't sympathetic and are villains in the sense you feel no sympathy for them. You want to stop them . The voice actors manage to convey that message through the cutscenes.
The sound design of this game is really well made. Everything from the guns to the cars and huge mechanical mechs.

Overall: It's a great shooter with really great graphics, solid story and great gameplay. It also gives the the player to explore a great multiplayer with several modes to explore. It's an overall really well crafted game.
