@ splinter10 and @ jsmoke03 - I kind of agree with both of you... I love the idea of the heavier feel to the game (Gears is similar there) but don't think they quite nailed it. You deffo get the feeling of weight but I found when fighting at middle to long range it was very difficult to make small adjustments, and this frustrated me a LOT. My main Gripe with the Killzone franchise is the really bad story telling and characters. I know that's not the most important thing in an FPS but they have a great overall plot with a fearsome, believable enemy and great settings.... it was so close to being truly amazing, this really let it down. Best graphics of any shooter, easily! It also nails the real visceral feel that most shooters don't have - the sound effects are immense! You know... I'm going to have to go and play this again tonight...

well it wasn't implemented too well, even with the patch. i tried replaying this game and almost threw up after 10 minutes...considering i play at 10 sensitivity or highest sensitivity on other fps, the highest sensitivity on kz2 feels like a 1. its 2 bad because it was a really good campaign the first time i played it

@lethal_intake brilliant man! happy to know Killzone 2 got you into FPS. For me its the greatest FPS of all time.

@jsmoke03 Its not choppy its just heavy as its meant to make you feel like a real soldier not some super soldier.

the only complaint about this series is the aiming sensitivity. its choppy that it makes me dizzy...

This game actually introduced me to the fps genre since I was previously inclined to playing any shooter type games, mainly because I thought I could never be good at it and it would just frustrated me on how bad my gameplay experience would be which wouldn't be fun at all. I also thought that shooter type games probably have bad story and are awfully short. But KZ2 got me hooked on this genre instantly... Superb game from its graphics to its gameplay mechanics... I love killing me some helgast! :D

IMO don't deserve 9, maximum score I can give it is 7.

Superb game that looks amazing with beautifully designed levels and good paced action. It doesn't get bored but ends pretty quickly. The story is pretty lame, but it doesnt bother to much because the game itself is amusingly. The multiplayer is very fun, with smart designed maps and a skill-rewarding system that satisfies enough, but nog too much. You will still find players online, with maps with 30/32 players. Definitely a game that needs to be bought by fps-lovers.

@SalahDinThe2nD it's few but the way the online is set it, it will never feel like it because of the way they have the online customized. You'll always be able to find a match.

@Ballen04 Sorry... Haven't played this game... yet. (-: Still, the music's similarity to Star Wars is uncanny. Didn't mean to offend anybody. Now that I have a PS3, I am definitely going to buy this game! Or Killzone 3, depending on how good it is compared to KZ2.

@mcdeigo96 lol yeah, that's a musical score written specifically for KZ2. :) It's not Star Wars music at all.

@mcdiego96 you have played this game right? The music is one of the scores from the game not Star Wars.

AARGH!!!! Why did they pick the music from Star Wars for this review?! I have no problem with the music, just with the odd choice to use it for Killzone 2. Really... why?

I had to play this game like 3 times to find out why it's exactly so good. FPS players eager to play the campaign, have this advice: don't strafe so much, use the cover system; play it on hard first if you are good; don't expect a good story.

xboxgameman, I agree with you for one reason and one reason only. The XBOX360 controller feels so much more comfortable in regards to playing certain game types, especially FPS. And yes, I have both consoles and I'm glad I picked up this game as well as the 3rd one. But yeah, I wish I could play the game with a 360 controller on the PS3 system.

who would have ever thought that a shooter like this could be done on consoles? Easily one of the best console shooters of all time.

Just finished it, don't believe gamespots 9.0. Maybe an 8.0. But IMO modern Fps suck. I was hoping this would restore my faith in the fps genre but once again we get a shallow and very breif campaign just like Mw2, Bo, and BC2.

They always say that Killzone 1 was a disappointment, and turned out "underwhelming. I thought it was pretty good. Not perfect by any means, but impressive in some ways. I don't think the first game gets enough credit. Killzone 2 was awesome though. Hope the third will be even better.

I played both KZ2 and Halo 3 as I owned both Xbox360 and Ps3... I personally felt that KZ2 is better than Halo 3 in term of graphics and gameplay animation (just my opinion though)... I never regretted buying Ps3 last christmas..I m enjoying my Ps3 more than my 3 years old Xbox360 due to great games such as GOW3,Resistance 2, KZ2...and now KZ3 is coming soon..great!!! ^^

This video reminds me the last gunfight before entering the palace to face Radec and his last men. When this red eyes killing machines screamed "ISA, they're fighting like demons" it pumped adrenaline on me as much if not more than some best Call of Duty's brackground music.

I'm more of an RPG and PC guy, but I really think I'll get this and Killzone 3. Beowulf is one of the voice actors in the third and that makes me happy.
