All around solid shooter that shines with its presentation and polished multiplayer.

KZ2 may seem like your typical FPS and in many ways it is a bit uninspired, but it also has some boldness in its execution and does things different from other mainstream shooters.

One of them is the visual style, heavy use of effects and blur might annoy you at first but it gives the game a unique and consistent look. The gameworld is also nicely detailed and the animations are superb. It's definately one of the prettiest games around.

The other main thing you will notice are the controls, some might say they're clunky and unresponsive but after getting used to them I found them to suit the rest of the game. They go a long way of contributing to the game's realistic and heavy feel.

The single player campaign really isn't anything special, there's a lot of action there, some exciting sequences and decent AI opponents. But the story and characters are something you will just pass by, and most of the missions are pretty basic.

The online multiplayer is where its at, there isn't a mile long list of weapons, gadgets and perks to choose from, and that suits me fine. The first weapon you get is really all you need, you can unlock medic, engineer and other abilities but the game doesn't revolve around unlocks like many others these days. The map design is exceptional, especially with the large outside maps. It supports 32 players, doesn't suffer much from lag or glitches, and is all around a balanced experience with some interesting game modes that switch on the fly. It's a shame it didn't keep up it's popularity, but you can still find a match and that's what matters.
