Alien Syndrome is a run and gun style game created for various systems in the late 80's. This game was fairly unique at the time because it allowed you to play 2 player cooperative mode, with both players on screen simultaneously. You can play as one of the two characters, Ricky and Mary. The object of the game is to fight through the various levels, releasing hostages who were captured by aliens. Once you save all of the hostages, you can exit the level and commence the boss fight. If you beat up on the boss, you progress to the next level. Wash, rinse, and repeat. This goes on for about 8 levels I believe. The graphics for the game were pretty good, and the game was very action packed, especially if you get in on the 2 player mode. There are also pick ups in the game that help you by giving you better weapons, etc. Alien Syndrome has recently been re-released for a couple newer systems, but I'm not sure if they are sequels or remakes of the same game.
