Elicits an amazing nostaligic feeling for fans of Gundam

User Rating: 9.3 | Kidou Senshi Gundam SEED: Rengou vs. Z.A.F.T. PS2
Graphics: 9/10
It's exactly what you'd expect from a Gundam game. Highly detailed suits truly brings the movies into your PS2. As well, the authentic characters taken straight from the Seed series immerses the player into the atmosphere of Gundam Seed even further. Every aspect from the movie is here for the eye to bask in, including highly specialized beam rifles, unique attack moves, and even transformations for some select few gundams such as Raider and Aegis. Only drawback is the blocky buildings along with the boring scenery. But, this is a gundam game, so scenery doesn't figure too much. However, it's still nice to have smooth and crisp scenery to play in.

Sound: 10/10
Veeerry cool sfx here. Some of the sounds you might not have even noticed from the movies, since they probably only occur once in the series. However, you'll have none of that problem, for you'll be playing this game over and over and over, until you've got those hissing hydraulics, clanking stomps, and buzz of beam sabers cemented into your brain. A nice touch to the game indeed.

Gameplay: 9/10
Everything from the arcade is here, including melee attacks, ranged attacks, and special attacks. They even ported the team-based system to the PS2 from the popular arcade game. The 10 maps are more than you'll need, and the variety of weaponry makes for unique experiences each battle. The controls are similar to the arcade, meaning that the response is sluggish and delayed. However, if you've ever played these type of gundam games before, this'll be nothing new.
There could be improvements though by adding more players in a battle, such as a 3 vs 3 instead of the rigid and uncreative 2 vs 2 at the present. There's only so many combinations you could go through with a 2 vs 2 system, whereas a 3 vs 3 system could allow for a 5 vs 1, 4 vs 2, 3 vs 2, etc. With the current technology, it should be quite within expectations, so this could be counted as a failure in Sony's part.

Value: 10/10
As said above, with 10 maps, over 20 unique Gundams, each with it's unique set of weaponry, and you have a grasp of how much gameplay this game packs. The nice thing is to have the difficulty adjuster as well, so that as you advance in the game, you could set the difficulty higher to match your improved skills. By doing so, different responses will come from your opponents, leading to a new experience in each battle.
