User Rating: 10 | Kidou Senshi Gundam: Gundam vs. Gundam PSP
Gundam vs Gundam for PSP is a port of the arcade game Gundam vs Gundam with lot more additions that make it even better than the arcade.Plus it's cheaper AND portable to go.So let us start.SInce this is a fighting game that isn't a big franchise(Like Tekken,Street Fighter etc)it has some fanservice story. To be frank it doesn't even matter here.

Gameplay 10/10

It's simple and addictive. You chose your team that ranges from 1-3 players and you fight against your opponents team in 1on1,2on2,3on1,1on3,1on2 and finally 2on1 fights.Like all fighting games your goal is to deplete your enemy's life bar.The fight however doesn't stop there.Doing this only helps in a small or large part of the team's cost gauge being depleted, always depending on the Gundam you destroy and the set of points you adjusted at the start of the battle.Apart from that it plays like Gundam Seed : Rengou vs Zaft series but better. That's capcom for you.But while the games capcom develop get better, the enemy's AI also gets better and the level of difficulity usually reaches the "Unforgivable" level for first-timers.(Devil may cry, megaman syndrome?)Also if you find this unforgiving, try this for size : this game is developed by Banpresto who is extremelly accurate to everything they do[unless told otherwise by Bandai-Namco] and make each Gundam play exactly like their anime counterpart.Frightning.But since they got the base formula from capcom here's the deal :computer controlled enemy units have decreased cost by half, and X1.5 the attack and life the actual unit has and they are slighlty faster than normal too,but not so tragically much. Also their boost gauge is more than your's,enough to keep an enemy gundam dashing or flying a few more seconds than your's.And they can charge so fast there's virtually no charging. But don't let it scare you.Quickly you'll get the hang of the game and if you have experience with capcom's previous gundam games(the seed ones),you'll just need to learn this game's little tweaks.A new addition on this game is the G-crossover,a "summon" of kinds. When the crosover gauge is full the team can unleash a massive battleship,or have a colony drop or typical gundam stuff that happned during each gundam's respective show.

Now on the modes.

1)Arcade.Split in Normal(A,B,C,D,E),Hard(A,B),Time Attack,Survival(or finish with no continues) and Ultimate routes. You pair up with certain gundams and fight other 2 man teams for 8 or more stages,so that you can finally face of against the Devil Gundam from G Gundam9albeit with a slightly different desighn).

2)Free battle. Now this where the fun is.You can do anything you want here, and that's the addictive part.It will certainly hook you up for some time.Ih you are a Gundam fane too, then it will be one of your favourite gundam games.

Last but not least each and every unit has it's own tweaks and gameplay style and not to forget, moveset. And that makes it even better.

Graphics 10/10

Ok,it's not Dissidia or Crisis Core level, but graphics are much, much better than one could expect. If dissidia and CC are number 1 in terms of graphics for the psp, then this game currently holds number 2.

Sound 10/10

Good old gundam songs, and character voices. What's more to say.Oh yeah! That during the course of the years some seiyuu became better than when they first voiced the character,or others are given more freedom with their character, while keeping him intact, adding some more lines that make them even better.Don't be surprised if you hear Hiro laughing his @$$ when he kills someone,or Trowa screaming for dear life when he uses his helicopter knife attack(and boy he's pretty good at that),or Domon screaming his lungs out like Shiro Amada. And that's a few to name.

Replay value 10/10

It's highly addictive so be carefull.

Total score 10/10

It's a great game for PSP and one that everyone who likes Gundam and 3D fighters can have.Don't worry if it's japanese only. It's very, very simple.
