Creating a perfect mixture of stradegy and story telling.. the game will blow your mind away..

User Rating: 6.7 | Kessen III PS2
...If you were a 5 year old novice that just got his Playstation 2 and never have never watched the History channel. Kessen I was a mixture of stradegy and story telling, with high detailed cinematics, and same is this one. Kessen II improved on the engine, and here Kessen II is. The previous Kessen games were about real historical events turned epic, with intriguing cinemtaics. This one keeps the random and somewhat annoying combat formula, but loses the accurate historical detail.

Two words history buffs.. THERE'S WORMS. Gaint worms to be exact. This ruined the whole entry and atmostphere of previous Kessen games. There's the same repetive combat engine, in which telling your armies seem a bit random and boring at times, and the Dynasty Warriors gimic is just as old as the DW game itself. It feels like a dumbed down version incased in a low life game such as this. The graphics look midly detailed up close, but when using the RTS factor, it looks almost as bad as the first one. The sound is average at best, and the whole inaccurate story doesn't have the same accurate historical atmoshere, ruining the name of Kessen for all history buffs who have previosuly loved this game.

Bad RTS factored graphics, somewhat boring and low RTS combat engine, bad sound, and the ruined atmosphere creates a game such as Kessen III. If you have bought previous Kessen titles because of the interesting real historical based outline, don't buy this game. If you bought previous titles for the combat engine, it's getting repetive, but then again it's your choice.

Even though I've been ranting and raving about this game's unworthy features, some may like it, and it can be incredibly addicitive when bored or alone.
