Warning: This game IS a drug
The gameplay. The gameplay has a few problems, most of which are solved by going through certain objects depeding on how truely stuck into them you are. Somehow, from a katamari stand point, it doesn't seem awkward, its like the designers anticipated changing invisible walls. Also, the people. they may look like lego people that, when hit, will inexplicably flip several times in the air onto their heads, then spin for a few seconds, then get up and run through things like piers. the gameplay, despite these highly annoying gameplay things, its good, after all, its the main thing that makes this game the drug that it is.
The graphics. let's be honest, the graphics are far from superb. as i said earlier, the people really are lego people. you really can go through walls, and, in a rare glitch, you really can fall through the floor into nothingness until the King of All Cosmos inexplicably saves you. On the plus side, the graphics are very easy on the eyes, despite all the action occuring. Having this game look highly realistic might have subtracted from the game, rather than add. Still, at this point into the ps2's life, the graphics, while good for the game, are by comparison, lame.
The sound. Sound effects are good, but a problem arises when there are just too many, and certain sound effects just, suck. The music itself, while known to annoy many a folk, I enjoy. the problem is that there is no change the music option for thsoe who do hate it. the only time it can random is during Eternal Modes. still, it made me go buy the soundtrack, so its stuck in my mind, heh.
The Value. Sure, the main game can be beat in a mere sitting or 2, you'll want to go back and look things over again, even unlock eternal modes (great fun!), or compete against someone else. Etiher way, it gets old, just not very fast.
My tilt. This game is awesome. It IS a drug. that is all.
