Rolling things up in a ball was never more fun!

This crazy japanese game is probably one of the weirdest youll find, everyone jokes how the developers were on shrooms when they made it but i really think they were. When you start the game you'll be introduced with a little intro video. Crazy japanese pop music rainbows, pandas, and a huge guy with a somewhat oval/rectangular head (the king of the cosmos). You dont play as the king, but as his son. He is blamed by his dad, because of his dads drunk rampage through the cosmos consequently knocking all the stars out of the sky. So his dad sends him to earth to... well.... roll crap up in a ball and make stars. Thats really what the gameplay centers around. You first start out as a tiny, little person who rolls around a ball. You pick up random items, paper clips pencils change, rats in the time limit to make you ball grow. Soon your ball gets bigger and your able to pick up people, soon you move to buildings, and then you start picking up land masses. This even though it sounds like its boring or stupid is actually very original and keeps you entertained through out the whole game.

The game uses cel-shading graphics with a box like 3d models. Really everything is pretty much of cubes or rectangular prisms. Though its doesnt have great realistic graphics like some very serious games, it fits well with the over all weird atmosphere. Everything is also very colorful, which is good.

Theres no voice acting in the game, everything is in text, but theyre are some good sound effects. You hear people screaming when you go towards them and youre big enough to roll them up. Animals squawk when you run into them or roll them up. Also when playing stages, theres always some crazy japanese pop song through out the stages. Some people find it annoying, but i kinda enjoyed it. If you do play it for an excessively long time it may get annoying though.

Theres lots of replay value, trying to get your ball bigger in time limits, but also if you get it big enough in a couple of levels it will lift the time restraints a allow you to make it as big as possible! There is a multiplayer mode but it not that good, usually if some gains a lead there able to knock items of the other player, and usually stay in the lead. Ive played the game for 9:59 minutes, I still like to play it occassionally though.

If your looking for a crazy and weird game to play Katamari Damacy is a good choice.
