a game that tries to be a movie when its not. rent don't buy

User Rating: 5.5 | Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days PC
I was a fan of the first game, although it caused a bad tast in many people's mouth and cost someone there job here at gamespot, that started a full blown mutiny, I thought it was a game that deserved more then it got, it was gritty and adult and up until you head into the jungle provided a cold hardline look at the world, people you loved to hate and had nothing good going for them, as for the second well let's get down to it.

The makers of hitman dropped the ball, gameplay always ran smooth in Kane and Lynch but thats about all the second one has going for it, the camera system is unique useing a look that reminds me of a low budget hong kong style movie shot with a handheld cam, what the makers were going for, but the view tires and you start to hate the camera dude following the action.

gameplay is bland and uninteresting, a wave of enemies come at you you shoot them move forwar repeat over and over again, and animations leave some questionable taste, like why hong kong police shoot like gang members and run at you like they are on drugs waiting for you to shoot them,

Guns are a refresher, asian pistals and machine guns with a mix of russian guns give it a pro hong kong feel,

but mission fall apart. more then once i have no idea whats going on, where im going, how people got where they are or why i should care, its way to easy to die, even behind full cover that should stop bullets, somehow rounds find its mark, destructable affects are good but questionable at times.
