MLB 09 THE SHOW PS3 - Change for the sake of change is never good. Could have been ALOT better.

While the graphics have improved, the new batting coach is an awesome feature, and the ability to edit your player so you can go back and re-grab your number or add eye-black or sunglasses is also awesome. They go ahead and totally redo the baserunning and the field view zoom, both of which I thought brought 08 a near perfect gameing experience.
I thought it was just because it was something new and it would just take time adjusting to the new baserunning style and after a month I got a bit better, but it was still clumbsy and something that wasn't a necessity to change.
The game also lags. Say you want to jump ahead a month or so, while 08 took maybe a second a day to advance, 09 takes at least 4 seconds per day. The graphics isn't THAT superior.
In the end they added things that should have been added but took out things that never should have been taken. Hitting is the same, Pitching is the same, as is Defence. Why change the baserunning and the view capability?
Change for the sake of change is never a good thing. There was a Tiger Woods game a few years back and if you wanted to put an arc on the ball you had to use one stick and swing with the other and you never received an accurate shot, previous versions just had you go down with the D-pad and it stook. It didn't take the people at Tiger too long to see their mistake and change it back ... hopefully the makers of MLB The Show will look upon this error too and correct it promptly.
Sold mine on eBay today.
Lesson learned. Next year I'll wait to rent MLB 10.
