This is not just a great game for importing, but a great game for everyone.

User Rating: 9.4 | Jump Superstars DS
Jump Superstars is a japanese fighting game for the Nintendo DS filled with tons of characters from many different Shonen Jump series. Not only is it fun to see the many characters in the game but the gameplay itself is the greatest part of the game.

In Jump Superstars you can play as many different manga characters but first you must unlock them and that is one of the most fun parts of the game. As you complete the objectives to levels you may either get a blank manga panel or a one spaced help card. If you match up a help card with its blank manga panel then the panel is unlocked and you may use that character in battle as either one of your controlled fighters or a character that pops out for a second, does some damage then goes away. There are many battle characters to unlock such as Rorouni Kenshin or Monkey D Luffy and the great thing is that each character handles differently. For example Kenshin is good at quick attacks then running away while Luffy is a good brawler, he can dish out fury of attacks at once and just keep going.

The AI in the game is ok, sometimes i would stand in a corner with a hole right in front of me and the opponent would just walk right into it and fall in and die. It would be okay if this happened once in a while but in that match i stood there for nearly half a minute, i wasn't attacked at all since the computer ran into the hole three or four times until i moved.

One of the few problems in this game is it not having much multiplayer. By the time you collect most of the cards for battle you will have enough experience to just blow through most battles and you will wish to play against real people. Jump Superstars has Single and multicard play, the single play is okay for a little bit but since you get pre-set decks there ends up being not enough variety quickly. Multicard play is availible but since you have to import this game chances are you probably won't get two games to say play your family, but if you do have two or more copies of the game you can use the decks you put together in single player to fight your human opponent. It may be annoying to hear everyone want every DS game to be WIFI but it is pretty obvious this game would be much better if you were able to play online against human players since chances are the people around you don't have the game.

The arenas you fight in are all themed very nicely to each manga such as Hikaru No Go, Rorouni Kenshin, or Bleach. There are various items in the game like bombs and fruits.

Since this game is only available in japan and won't come to America it is full of Japanese so you will need a guide to get through the game but once you've got the menus memorized it gets pretty easy to navigate. Overall Jump Superstars is a great fun game that almost anyone can play if they have enough patience to read guides and it is a great fighter in general. If you like anime or manga you will most likely love this game, if you don't necessarily love anime you will still find a solid fighting game.
