The real trial is going to be Part 4 in the anime. Part 4 is way too different and a lot of viewers can drop the show during that part. If we reach Part 5 then we can hope for more because part 5 is all action!.

If people had been sticking with the franchise up to Part 4, I'm sure they'd be willing to stick with it after coming this far, and given some of the tonal changes from Part 1 to 2 to 3, anyone who can handle those shifts coupled with the length would be able to accept the different styles of each portion of the story (in this case Part 4). From what I hear Part 4 has a lot of comedy in it which might add some flavour to the daily life events, and Part 2 has tons of comedy as well, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get accustomed to.

The problem with part 4 is that is have a lot of rare battles and "meh" story. Kira is also not at the same level of Cars or Dio and his battle against Josuke was not too good either.

i'm sorry but wat. part 2's story is alright, and Joseph is great. but cars is not a memorable villain at all and part 4 is great because it is so different than part 3. if it tried to be another conflict on the scale of saving the world, it would just look boring and tired coming right after part 3.

the slower character story filled and mystery villain structure make it such an interesting conflict coming right after part 3. it's intimate, youthful, and quaint.

I love a nice mixture of slice of life (in the laymen sense) and superpowered battles thrown together to give the story more balance and realism. The grounded scope attributes to what makes it interesting; Part 4 (from what it sounds like) is the anti-shonen where everything has to be super esoteric with scaling power ups and machinations, instead we have an eccentric high school student who wants nothing more than to ensure the peace of his city, trying to uphold the pacifism while an air of tension and murder is looming over Morioh. Something akin to Diamond is Unbreakable would be Yozakura Quartet where a council of superpowered teenagers try to ensure a safe coexistence of demons and humans in their town, protecting them from malicious conspirators and as someone already previously noted "maintaining the status quo".
