- "Almost, but not quite"
Johnny Platform's Biscuit Romp, by indie-game developer IshiEiketsu (who also made Johhny Platform Saves Xmas) is a decent puzzle game wrapped in a poor platforming game.
JP's Biscuit Romp, while looking initially like a platformer of sorts, is actually a puzzle game at heart. Each level requires you to stomp out a few enemies, grab some cups of coffee (for extra lives), and platform your way to the exit. As the levels progress, the puzzles get harder, requiring you to eventually have to think through how to get to the exit using the moveable blocks in each level. While initially pretty easy, the difficulty continues to ramp up at each level, eventually giving you quite a challenge.
Unfortunately, if you're into puzzles, there are much better puzzle games out there both in terms of puzzle type and diffictulty, as well as in genre storytelling and context. Indie-games like Rotor'scope far surpass Biscuit Romp for engaging story, and there's a ton of pretty good platformers out there too.
The graphics, instead of feeling old-school, rather feel just old. They're not very colorful or interesting and leave you wanting a lot more. The colors all feel washed out - and in a puzzle game, it's nice to have something interesting to look at at least.
Not that JP's Biscuit Romp is a bad game, its fine, but it doesn't stand out among a bunch of other titles, some of which are very good.

A great little platform puzzler that shouldn't be missed.
