A ballad of graffiti and swag. Kinda..

User Rating: 6 | Jet Set Radio VITA
Jet Set Radio is a game set in Tokyo about rival gangs. These said gangs love to graffiti, and you gotta make yours the top dog, while at the same time avoiding the cops, and defeating the evil syndicate, The Rokkaku Group. The main setting for a level, is an open-world area set in a district. And your goal is to cover up a certain area with spray paint while avoiding the cops, and before running out of time. You can grind around, and there are tons of cool tricks you can do on your skates, which will earn you more points in the ranking system. The graphics are cel-shaded, and everything oozes style. The soundtrack is just great. So many funky tracks, and I just everything! UGH! But that's where the positives end, as the camera is the real enemy. Along with the random difficulty spike that almost ruins the experience. And isn't this supposed to be a HD remake? Only the framerate is better, and the graphics look no different from the one of ten years past. So, do I recommend it? For first timers, yeah pick this one up. But for people who've played the original, stick to the dreamcast. Pros: Everything oozes style, and is unique. + Awesome soundtrack, everyone of 'em's great. + The gameplay of hit and run is great! Cons: The camera is bad, and can be downright unbearable at times. - The random difficulty spike near the end. - The HD looks exactly the same. - Overall: 6/10 Recommend: If you've never played, YES. If you've played and owned the original, NO.
