Now this is a GREAT game. Jet Grind Radio, is an awesome game! What you do basically, is you pick a character, and go around the streets of Tokyo, and tag over rival gangs' graffiti. I know that too many people, they might think that this game was made by some sort of "stay alive" type person, but its' actually more reasonable than that. As you go along the story line, you find more characters to help you and more graffiti tags to use that get better and better than the last. The graphics might be a tad off, but the actual game play is quite fun. You can tell that the makers of this game put a lot of work onto this game with all the different graffitis you can choose from, and the exploration of the small to big levels. Beat is the main character in this little tagger's adventure and as you play through the game, more characters challenge you to tag races. The objective is to race to a certain point of a level and tag the red arrow before the rival does. This game has its few wow moments when you face off against bosses, and as you unlock more and more different tags you can use to paint the streets with "art". The music is really good as well. And even though some people might think that you can't find it anywhere, you can. There are various artists that contributed their songs to this game. Most of them might be unknown to you when you first start the game, but after you've played for a while you'll know those artists for the rest of your days. The controls for the game are quite simple. You move the thumb stick in the direction you want to go and the character will slowly build up speed to an eventual reasonable speed for a skater. When you push the R trigger, you start to dash which lets your character move faster for a short period of time. Pushing the L trigger will do nothing unless your next to a green or red arrow. When you are by one of the visible markers, you'll start to tag. Depending on the size of the tag, you will either be moving the thumb stick or just the L trigger. The sizes are small, medium, and large. The medium and large tags make you move the thumb stick in the arrows' directions on the screen which, are either easy or hard depending on the amount of technique the character has. Each size is distinguished by a noticeably large or small arrow. Each character has three stats, Stamina, technique, and spray. The more stamina the character has, then the more health it has. Depending on the health, your character will either take more hits, or very few. Technique is the amount of points you get for tagging, and for doing tricks. The more technique you have, then the more complicated the actions are for the tagging. The game also has a unique ranking system. Depending on the rank you get, then you'll be able to unlock new characters. So overall, it's a really fun game to play.
