OVERVIEW

This is Jeopardy! Just like the great trivia TV show, now you get the chance to show off your intelligence. The object of the game is to compete against other human players or computer players in answering questions and earning money. The harder the question the more money you could win. But watch out because if you answer a question incorrectly, you'll lose money. The player with the most money at the end wins.

GAMEPLAY

From the beginning you get to choose your character, the number of players and the difficulty. There are three difficulty settings; easy, medium and hard. Each setting determines how tough the computer plays and how much time you have to type in your answers. A game consists of two separate rounds and a final round. In the first round you're faced with six different categories with increasing dollar amounts starting from $100 to $500 in increments of $100. Most of the questions are based around the 1980s and whoever correctly answers the previous question gets to choose the next question. Jeopardy offers a wide variety of questions from psychiatry to science fiction. Even after playing through a few times, you'll still see new questions which is a definite plus.

In the second round the dollar amounts are doubled. Now just like the TV show, there are Daily Doubles. Daily Doubles are for one person and this is a risk / reward situation because you can risk up to all your money. If you correctly answer the question, you earn double what you risked. Of course an incorrect response will cost you. There is one set back in this game in that if you misspell an answer by one or two letters or if you don't respond with exactly the right letters (for example, writing USA instead of United States of America), you'll lose money. This can be a bit frustrating.

The final round or Final Jeopardy is anybody's game. Here any player that has at least one dollar can participate. You can wage all or nothing in this final question and it is winner take all. Just like the TV show, Final Jeopardy can be a lot of fun and a great finish to the game.

GRAPHICS & SOUND

There is nothing spectacular here. Everything looks just like the TV show.

Again just like the visuals, the audio for the game is just like the TV show. All the sounds like the Daily Doubles tone is here.

CONCLUSION

Jeopardy is a fun trivia game that you can play at home with your friends to see who knows more "useless" trivia. The game plays almost exactly like the TV show which is why I would recommend it to anyone who likes watching Jeopardy. Also, since there are many questions, the replay value is quite high. If you don't know a lot of 80s trivia you probably won't appreciate this game. Answer: It is a good trivia game for the NES. Question: What is Jeopardy!
