Jaws Unleashed may be fun for a while but that fun disguises the sadly weak production and story.

Jaws Unleashed was a hit game and was one of the best selling games of '06, but after the advertising wave and the masses running to stores to get it, it quickly became considered the worst game of 06, and while I don't think it's a horrible game, I must say that it wasn't the greatest game to appear on my screen. This game probably decieved many players with its all out evil game play and eating people, but you had to look deeper. The bad things were everything you probably noticed, the awful looking people and the pathetic, randomly inserted sounds, just for a start. The good things were the underwater graphics for sure. The design for the shark was incredibly well done. It really made the underwater world realistic. But this is where the good stuff ends. I have noticed many annoying freezes and bugs. Sometimes when I try to exit a level I have to turn off the entire PS2, and THAT ticks me off. The story is ridiculous and some of the tricks Jaws can do are very very absurd, like tail whipping people into the air and hence bloodily dismembering them. What kind of shark can hop right up on the beach and nab someone right off into the water? It is fun but gimme a break. The game was poorly produced and doesnt deserve to have the Jaws license in its name. Its very dissapointing too since the original was supposed to be a brand new story including online play and two player. Appaloosa made me a litle dissapointed with this game. Make a good shark game, for once.
