Check out what Sigourney Weaver had to say about Avatar when we spoke to her at Comic-Con 2009!
Hmm. She's all like "Be a pacifist" I find that hard to believe, as she was in aliens, shooting the heck out of everything.
@ Skidrow18 Yeah, she is. She was in Avatar as well.
isnt that the woman for the movie Aliens?
Interesting..
Its cool to see more famous movie stars trying to get involved with games even if they are trying to get us to go through the hole thing just picking flowers :P
I will not want to see a simple and short FPS as Avatar seems to be now...
I love Sigourney Weaver, she's such a fresh person. The way she explains the game makes it sound really fun and intuitive.
wow, has it really been that long since the alien movies...she looks so old now.
since when was sigourney weaver a pacifist??!! or do aliens not count
haha too much hype.
Well they could have prepared her more about what to say for this interview. I suppose I wouldn't expect an actress to fully understand what a gamer wants to hear when we listen to an interview. But it is a bit refreshing to hear a different point of view about a video game.
why do I have the feeling that both the movie and the game is overly hyped and won't meet expectations?
cool be fun. I agree it looks a little Turokish though, which may or may not be a bad thing.
I think if she already did the movie that this game is based on, she knows what she is talking about. I guess you just have to be older than 12 to understand her point of view.
without seeing a trailer or gameplay, so far reminds me of Turok.
.... this women hasnt played a recent console game LIES !!!
It is funny that she is talking about peace and not blowing up people considering all the destructions that her character did in the Alien series. So no movie on Avatar? Just her interview? Nice false advertising from Gamespot! ;(
what the hell is she talking about? does she even know what shes talking about?
Notice how now Sig has faith in video games, but when she was given the option to do Ghostbusters she declined and was written out. But hey this game does have great potential!
video doesnt work.
Am I the only one with issues regarding video playback? Hardly any of the vids work. I have the latest version of flash player too!
This sucks ! Why the hell I should buy a game about collecting a flowers? I she is pacifist this does not means that all of us are like this! And why she is already talking about the next game ???
This interview would of been a hundred times cooler if an alien busted out of her chest, then jumped on the face of the guy who decided to post this lame vid.
Aha they have a criticism filter. Look at what? Sigourney Weaver and her opinion? Not what I was looking for. Now I'm least interested. What do they think we are? Masochists? The don't know how to keep the tension and the interest going.
123 123 1231 Why doesn't the post appears?
As usual total crap. Where the hell is the sneak peak of the game. This interview is more appropriate for movie lovers. We're looking for game footage. Game Spot, why this tendency to suck so much as of lately? Can't you pay good people to keep the site going on?
This game, this movie seriously looks amazing! From what they have released, which is very little, is amazing! The game looks so open, so wide, great storyline! The movie, so beautiful yet behind the beauty is war, war on survival! Sigourney Weaver really knows what she is talking about! Her "speech" was so fluid and well put together that i am proud she is in this movie! She's a legend!!
Congratulations Ms. Weaver. In four minutes you've talked me out of wanting this game or seeing the movie. Not everybody is a capitalism/humanity hating eco warrior. Good luck with that.
still no gameplay footage
Looks interesting.
Finally, I got to see some of Avatar and what It is about, finally.
hmm on my radar now
Sigourney Weaver is very, very smart person. She talks things she knows about and leaves stuff she doesen't unmentioned. I like the thing she said about that actors can provide more than just dialogue, which is true! I would love to see more of that in the future!
Exactly. Sigourney Weaver knows what she's talking about. She's just hopeful for a pascifistic approach rather than the usual run and gun we all love to do.
It always cracks me up that Sigourney Weaver, who is one of the most badass women around, is actually a pascifist.

That wasn't what I was lookin for in.
This is more about the movie then the game.
@blasterchief I disagree 100%. She actually seems to know a lot about the story, which isn't a surprise since she already shot the movie. The only thing she "has no clue" on is the gameplay, because it's apparent she hasn't been given the opportunity to play it. But she certainly knows more than half the people interviewed for games these days (like clueless marketing drones), so I think this interview was very good.
ooohh Sigourney. bless ur sweet heart. ur so cute, but u got yourself in way over your head.
I remember her from the aliens movies :D
lol.. She has no clue what she's on about. And I'm betting she's drunk as well. lulz
the screenshots look pretty cool, but where the hell is the gameplay or at lease a trailer
Not excited.
thank god that that lady had nothing to do with the gameplay of the game. I DO NOT want to be collecting plant samples... i want to cause pain, death and misery in as many ways as possible
@Regisland: James Cameron's Avatar is NOT Avatar: The Last Airbender. Good job.
@ freakalator i agree man, after that long ass speech at the ubisoft conference i was at least expecting a little game play if not that a teaser trailer. this guy might set himself up to be like Peter Molyneux lol.....
i dont care about avatar movie, anime and i wont care about the game
Is that Ripley!?!?!
lol
