You will get alot of fun out of this, but the intense difficulty will test your patience.

James bond has appeared on many consoles like the ZX Spectrum, N64 and SNES. Now they have moved 007 to the PS2 and it has been quite a change. Pierce Brosnan is the James Bond in this game instead of Daniel Craig (well the game WAS made in 2002.) This game doesn't replicate any of the Bond films, it concentrates on a made-up story about a man called Raphael Drake stealing some re-designed military hardware.Since you are 007 you must parachute out of a plane and land outside his castle in a snowy environment. I don't want to spoil anymore so I am going to stop talking about the story and focus on the other things. The graphics look very good depending what version you have. If you have the PS2 version, Xbox version or the Gamecube version then the graphics are good but if you have the GBA or the PC version then the graphics will look awful. I seriously have no idea why they have done this. The AI is really dumb. They will just stand there when you try to sneak up on them and if they spot you then will run slowly to the alarm and that will give you alot of time to shoot them. Security cameras, trip wires and searchlights are pretty smart compared to the humans but they are fairly easy to dodge. All the levels look detailed and they are varied and they don't look the same each time. This is one of the most important things in a shooter because bland, dismal environments won't cut it. The controls are really confusing at first. To scroll through weapons you have to press up and down on the directional pad and to change you have to press left and right. Shooting stuff is easy by pressing the R1 button but aiming is a real pain. You aim with the right analog stick as you move and also the left analog stick. There is an auto aim button but you will rarely use it. There are some varied missions to play through like Racing Q to the extraction point or installing a Q-worm into office computers, it gets really fun and varied. The game can be fun in short bursts but after that it can get really intense as there are almost NO checkpoints. I had to replay a certain level over 15 times because of this. Your health meter is not very big but luckily you can pick up body armour scattered around the levels and that really helps. There is also a multiplayer mode but I have yet to try it out. 007 Nightfire was alot of fun, if you can handle the difficulty. The graphics, variety, gameplay, voice acting and script makes this a great game but the controls, AI and difficulty spoils the fun. This game is currently selling at £1.99 so if you want to pick it up then go for it.
