Review

Daniel Craig's likeness and voice are used to prop up this short but quite enjoyable installment of Bond titles. Bond travels across the globe trying to track down those who have gotten their hands on the UK's top secret Biochemical Project. Even though the story takes Bond to some very exotic locations, such as Burma and Istanbul, the set pieces are dull uninspiring concrete boxes with few obstacles. Gameplay is strictly linear with very few opportunities to retrace your progress. Uncharacteristic of Bond adventures, the antagonist does not have a strong presence in this game. He is quite forgettable.

This leads to a plot that is loosely held together by quintessential Bond tactics of tracking and gathering intelligence. Of course there is going to be a breach of some sort to catapult Bond into three or four high-speed car chases, brutal fist fights and takedowns, or fierce gun battles. Compared to the bland visuals, the action sequences are quite enjoyable. Stealth adds a bit of tension and keeps the plot moving forward.

When you think of Bond, high-tech devices also come to mind. Blood Stone has few of these devices. Other than Bond's Smart Phone they are used mostly as cosmetic with no real purpose except filler. Bond uses his phone to hack terminals and cameras, track enemies, and identify mission objectives. Some intelligence gathered by his phone however does kittle to inspire Bond's actions.

This is a fun game that you aren't going to spend much time completing. There are a few really fun sets that Bond will need to use all of his skills to get through and survive. There is somewhat of a twist to the ending.

If you are a fan of Bond, buy this one on the cheap.
