Jak 3 is a solid platform game in it's own right, but is a disappointing end to the trilogy.

So, here we are, the end of an era, the grand finale, the final chapter...The disappointing end.

Now, like I said, Jak 3 is NOT a bad game. But really, I noticed from the get-go I was not going to enjoy Jak 3 as much as I did one and two.

When I started the game up, it was directly after finishing Jak II, so, I easily noticed that, This game IS Jak II. It plays exactly the same, graphics were the same, Everything was the same as Jak II.

Now I know what you're thinking, alot of games in franchises do, sort of, stay exactly the same. But the thing is, my expectation was to get something, SOMETHING fresh out of a sequel. But no, I got a re-hash of Jak II. You see from Jak 1 to Jak II, you got alot of change, you went from open-world exploring to open-city exploring, you got guns instead of power ups, Jak talking instead of well..Not talking. You got a lengthier story mode, you got better graphics and animation. Basically, there was a bunch of new stuff.

Not the case for Jak 3.

Started the game up. Same guns, same graphics, same gameplay, shorter story, too. I'll admit there were some new things, like easier missions (thank God), dune-buggies, dune-buggies, new gun power ups, dune-buggies, dune-buggies, and, new gun power ups. Yeah.

The story also, in comparison to Jak II, wasn't very impressive. Jak II had a mysterious plot that would keep any Jak fan playing, while Jak 3's wasn't really anything special. Jak II had you randomly thrown into the future, turned into an eco-beast, and stealing cars. Jak 3 has you fighting some guy in a suit.

The setting was seriously also only around 40% new, as you'll -minor spoilers- spend half the game in Haven City, the same city you were in back in Jak II. Now this is something I can get past, but, not really enjoy as much as being in a all-new area.

I would say something about the good of this game but, there's really NOTHING for Jak 3 we haven't already seen. It's no change almost at all. But let's just remember one new thing, Dune-Buggies.

Now, I don't hate this game, I don't dislike this game, I'm just disappointed with this game. The ending, instead of feeling like an ending, just feels like "Coming up next, Jak IV". and over-all, I was just disappointed with the game from start to finish, yet I still found enjoyment simply because, hey, It's more Jak and Daxter, I love Jak and Daxter, but that still does mean this particular Jak game has as much to love as other games in the trilogy.

And since I do love Jak and Daxter, even after the disappointment, I will still probably get Jak X, and enjoy it, but hopefully as a game, not just because I'm a fan.

Well anyways, here's my bottom line.

You'll probably find yourself playing til' the end if your a series fan, but I certainly would not pick this up if you didn't enjoy Jak II.
