Not just another Pokemon rip-off in any way

I picked this game up thinking that it would be just that - another Pokemon rip-off. I had originally found this game at my local Wal-mart and decided that I would give it a shot. I was definately not disappointed. From when I first put the game in, I was amazed by the wonderful intro movie, and wanted to play it even more.
The game looks quite nice for a PSX game. It's nothing too over the top for the time and nothing that looks like the developers didnt care about it. All of the available forests are simply beautiful looking, and most are quite expansive. The sound isnt anything to boast about, but the tunes are catchy and they dont sound like crap.
The combat was the only thing that was like Pokemon. Basically you catch minions and fight them against other minions that you encounter in the forest and other breeding guys you find. You also had the option to fight as yourself (human). Lots of spells and moves to get and a horribly large number of minions to capture.
The story was good, but not over the top good. The main character (Levant by default) father disappeared into a forest and now he wants to go find him, meating many interesting (to say the least) poeple along the way.
Replay value once the main story is actually worth playing. The Eternal Corridor is exactly what it implies: a forest that never ends, unless you chose too.
I think this game was very underappreciated. People I have talked to seem to have no idea what this game is, or that there was even a game like this. Overall, a great game.
