Sure it's knocking off other TPS games, but the concept itself, atleast, is somewhat original.

And the graphics honestly look great, especially when compared to games like Deus Ex.

Fact: Squall is based off River Phoenix and Gackt. That's right. He's a cocaine addict and a cross dresser.

Agreed. I expect this to be nothing more than a solid TPS with gravity manipulation. I enjoyed Saber Interactive's last game, TimeShift, which I think is quite overlooked. But then again it suffers from the same problems Inversion will probably will. It's nothing genre-defining once the "gimmickry" wears off. In TimeShift's case, the time manipulation. In Inversion's case, the gravity manipulation. Regardless, it looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

I didn't know if this game was made by the company that also made Time Shift. Definitely looking forward to getting this day 1.

Looks like Infamous and Fracture had a baby.

This game looks sick, but I'm wary about buying games on day one just because they have a cool concept. Dark Void and Fracture taught me that. I will probably rent it, and buy it if I like the multi, which is looking like I will.

Well i agree with you that its gonna be a pretty solid fun game. I don't see how that's a bad thing though. If you expect every release to be "genre defining" or one of the generation's best, than your expectations are to high. Only a few games ever reach those lofty goals each gen. A good fun game is what everyone should be expecting from their games.

They're "games" after all, if you're not having fun playing than what's the point. That's something i think everybody has truly forgotten about gaming. Everyone plays what everyone else plays as long as its rated highly and you're told its what you should be playing. I don't see many people just playing to have fun. Which once again is the whole point isn't it? Isn't it?

Anyway back to the topic at hand. Inversion looks to be a very similar effort to timeshift. It'll borrow elements from other games, look a little bland and generic at least initially anyway, and it won't be particularly original. It will most likely come together and be a solid fun experience just like timeshift was.

Lengthy, nice looking graphically, decent sound design, with satisfying gunplay and decently varied encounters. All with its own "gimmick" to tie it all together. That sums up timeshift in a nutshell and i expect the same from inversion, especially with the gameplay that has been shown.

I do disagree that timeshifts' time manipulation was gimmicky though. Not used to its fullest potential? Sure. Used well enough and often that it made it more than just a gimmick? Absolutely! I expect the same from inversion.

Couldn't agree more. Yes, people expect every game released these days to be genre-defining and knock them to their knees. How many times have you come across a rant where someone makes mention of a game being a piece of crap and a waste of money because there are "better" games coming? If you have to save your pennies for these massively overrated AAA games, then maybe gaming as a whole is far too expensive a hobby for you. A lot of folks hated NeverDead. I enjoyed it. Was it the greatest third-person action game ever made? No. Was it absolutely awful? Not at all. It was fun. Nothing outstanding. Just fun. People expect way too much these days. Their sense of self-entitlement is amazing.
