Full of terrible problems, yet always makes me smile
Bad: -first 2 hours are some of the worst ever experienced
-Somewhat boring story
-redundant battle system
-very short with no replay value
Good: -excellent characters
-great visuals
-very charming
Like Ive said the first couple of hours were terrible. You find yourself constantly running, and running, thats all you really do. to make it worse they hint at this awesome battle system and promise interaction with the environment, but its not there. very frustrating.
Once you get past those hours it starts to pick up, thankfully. and the rest of the game is fine.
THe battle system was fine. Its always fun to beat up on some monsters, but it was way to easy. It also quickly turned into a button masher. Ok but not great.
The story was average. Its your typical save the world story, which isn't by itself a problem.It just wasn't presented very well. I really didn't care at all. Their are some parts that were actually interesting. Faina and Leif added a lot for me. Once again, Ok but not great.
VIsuals are great, beautiful environments and good character design, a joy to watch. However some of the enviroments were a little booring a repetitive. But still Good.
THe cast of Infinite undiscovery were its saving grace. They are great. Each character has a uniquepersonality and contributes somewhat to the rest of the party.Sigmund, Faina, Capel, Tauma, and some others were particularly good. and while others were extremely annoying, (Rico and Rucha), they still provided variety and amusement. Great Cast
I am a traditional RPG fan and find myself at home with the SNES classics. Those games had charm, something thats hard to find now adays. THis game reminded me of that charm. Ive already mentioned this, but The scenes with Faina were excellent, I couldn't stop smiling. Minor spoiler-- I also enjoyed the ending sequence about each character, very chaeezy, but great.
This is not a great game, its just good. However, if you let it you might find yourself enchanted by the charming characters it contains.
