I love zombie games. But who doesnt? Granted there have been a few total let-downs in that genre (Touch the Dead, Road to Fiddlers Green, ect.). Infected is not in that catagory. You play as Agent Stevens of the NYBT (New York Biological Team) sent into New York to fight off the "infected" using conventional weapons and a special bio-gun thats ammo is derived from your own blood. Combat is not as awkward as it may sound, though you do have to weaken the infected with normal weapons and deliver the kill with your bio-gun it is all two fisted action with helpful lock-ons and explosive combos with much beautiful blood splatter. The missions are indeed rather simple, search and destroy, defend, and rescue. you are given different sets of objectives to get 3 possible levels of medals (bronze, silver, or gold) you need certain numbers of medals to unlock more missions and depending on the medal you recieve will dictate your pay for that mission which then is used to upgrade your weapons and buy more avatars. There is a large amout of diversity in the avatars ranging from play-boy bunnies, para military soldiers, fast food workers, business men/women, the members of the band Slipknot, and even Bloodrayne herself. so customizing your avatar is quite a bit of fun in itself. The graphics are rather good, especially in the (rather funny) cutscenes. The only downside to this game is once you play through the 35 missions the game ends and you feel lost and wanting more. You can always play though previous levels to continue to unlock specials and make more money so there is a degree od replay value there also. you can definatly pick this game up cheap at a used game store and it will be well worth your time and money. Enjoy.
