LOVED

Getting Sand In Your Crack: inFAMOUS features sandbox / open-world gameplay where you are free to explore the world to find blast shards (to increase yourammo level), to take on side missions (to gain experience and clear an are of enemies), or just play around and destroy stuff. Of course, you can just play the main story missions if you want. The game has quite a "free" feel to it that isin stark contrast to the tightly scripted events of other superhero games.

Look At All That Juice! : The game does a great job at making you feel like a powerful, badass superhero with electric powers. Cole's body is always surging with electricity and he can dish it out with deadly accuracy. I thought the game really takes off when you gain the float/glide ability which greatly increases your mobility.

Animated Comics, or Something: The main story is told through cutscenes that look like comic book panel, but animated slightly. It's a nice artistic touch. And the story is pretty good too.

Moral Victories: Besides the sandbox gameplay, the other immediately noticeable feature of inFAMOUS are the moral / good-or-evil decisions you have to make. These decisions also dictate what powers you can and cannot use and how the world reacts to you. I played the Good side and by the end, the NPCs adored me and treated me like a celebrity.

The Truth: The twist at the end deserves to be praised. I wasn't expecting it and it was a great surprise. Perfect set-up for inFAMOUS 2 as well.

HATED

Black or White. No Shades of Gray: Your Cole needs to be either a good guy or an evil guy if want to experience inFAMOUS to the fullest. Your most powerful and useful attacks arerestricted for only when you're completely good or evil.

Put Your Dukes Up, Punk: The melee system is practically useless in this game. You mostly get attacked my multiple enemies, which makes fighting them one-on-one with your fists a stupd strategy that will get you killed. You can download a FREE DLC power called the Gigawatt Blades used for meleeing fools that are incrediblypowerful...andnever need to be powered-up once you activate them.

CONCLUSION

inFAMOUS is a fantastic superhero game with sandbox gameplay and moral choices that encourage multiple playthroughs. Once you gain the ability to float/glide around the city, the game really takes off and makes you feel like a powerful superhero or supervillan. The game'sonly real downside is having to be either completely good or evil to access the most powerful and useful attacks in the game.
