The lightning flies in this Infamous 2 video review with Tom Mc Shea.
I loved this game! More than the first. I agree some fights dragged because there were so many enemies and the camera got a little wonky but it was awesome. To get rid of the dark screen when you get hit all you have to do is get to a power source and absorb energy... Not that difficult. I give it a 9
idk why people say its a disappointing sequel !!!
it is a great game , although the camera could be a pain but i think it is 8.5 game or more !!!
I love this game it's totally one of my favorites. I say its a great game for like 40 bucks. Not worth the $60.
Why does most of the reviews of the games from sony consoles have such low ratings? I mean, legend of dragoon with a 6.4, infamous 2 with 7.5, really? the truth is the great envy they have for sony, if they think they are professional critics, they are totally wrong
I thought it deserved an 8.5. A rating of 7.5 seems a little harsh for a game that initially received 9.0 by game spot critics. Yes I think he had a point about the pace, it was very inconsistent which made it incredibly annoying at times. However, the massive overhaul of the combat and the massive amount variety that was added to the game surely takes it a step forward, and not a step backwards?
It's basically INfamous with boosted graphics, more level variety, plus fun creatures. Using the motion controller is what really made it stand out for me. At its core, it's more of the same, but so are most sequels. It's at least an 8.5.
Let's not forget the positives: almost no load time, highly responsive combat, the addition of destructible environments, ace voice acting....you know, all the stuff the reviewer takes for granted.
''Predictable formula for a sequel, better visuals and more variety...'' Couldn't most of this games cons be applied to any other game
For me it wasn't hard to get in the game, but the pacing it's killing me just as Tom says. Side missions been throwing me those spitter bosses to many times and it's not fun anymore. I had this game for more than two months now and I completed the sequel of the nemesis saga (you know wich game is) in less than two weeks. This game is very inferior compared to the first one.
I'm thinking the reviewer is wanting some "fun" to replace a "challenge". He talks a lot of smack about the combat. Like boss creatures appearing in normal fights, or tight spaces where you cant be free to move around or just a lot of enemies to fight. Those are called challenges and you would want them in a "game". Or at least I do. I don't know if he is stuck in Nostalgia for the first one but inFamous 2 was a great sequel and my friends and I loved every minute of it. They are solid games for sure.
This review is stupid. I loved the first game and was only too happy for more of the same. The added variety makes it far better than Inf 1 and the powers are more diverse (thumbs up to the ice leap). I wouldn't care if it wasnt for the fact that this game should get a 9.0 and is now branded forever as a 7.5. All other websites give it at least an 8-8.5 so do not listen to this review!IF YOU ENJOYED INFAMOUS 1, PREPARE TO LOSE EVERY HOUR OF YOUR LIFE ONCE YOU PICK UP INF 2!
okay this review is retarded. Not a huge fan of Infamous but I do own both games and this game is by far WAY better than the first. Cole has more appeal as a character, there are more powers which are cooler, the city is more alive and looks much better. I generally never agree with any of this guys reviews, in all honesty how does he even have a job as a game reviewer? The things he complains about are so small.ah well, I've never let an ign or gamespot review sell me a game, I read user reviews, they are much more useful.
The first Infamous is better, but Gamespot's score is a little too low for the amount of fun to be had with this title.I'd rate it at least an 8.0.They should have been as thorough and harsh with Batman Arkham City, which is vastly inferior to Batman Arkham Asylum.
I have to say that GameXboxSpot got this one right. I was thinking the same thing when I was playing this game. Strangely, this game brings out flaws in infamous 1 that I didn't notice until I play this. I don't what happened over there at SuckerPunch. But this game is totally disappointing. Although I will say that the graphics have greatly improved. I havent beat it yet. I see this one is going to be a struggle like Batman Arkem city. That game isn't as good as the original as well.
Hey I have 1 question are there 2 festivals of bood? one for inFamous 1 and another for #2
@NeutralFan Well for me it's the boss fights, boss fights are fun but not in every single freaking fight you get in. It's not a matter of difficulty, it's the fact that your standard fight with a gang of Ice soldiers or mutants or Militia, ends up lasting way longer than it should and eventually you just get sick of battling the exact same boss at least 50 times. Bosses are meant to change things up, not become the usual. That and the choices in this game are just so black and white. Even though the choices in inFamous 1 were also sort of black and white, there were still some tough decisions that I actually had to put some thought in. In inFamous 2, all I needed to make a certain decision was whether or not I wanted to be good or infamous. It's still a great game though, but it's not as great as the original.
@kyleweeeeeeeeee Get the first one. It's a better game. Second feels as though it had a completely different design lead.
don't believe this stupid review Infamous 2 is AWESOME it's ten times better than the original and maybe it's the first open world game where graphics are gorgeous
lol Why did Cole turn into Jason Statham? XD But it looks like they found the anti-aliasing-setting, no?...
This game disappointed me. Still a good game, thought it would be better. I mean, come on, monsters randomly coming out of nowhere? When I saw my frist beast-thingy, I thought to myself what was that for? I mean, if Bertrand's gonna have superpowers, make it be something kick-ass
quit whining your the worst videogame commentor ever! And I hate it when gamespot commenters over analyze every single miniscule detail that most of the gamers don't even focus on!
@kyleweeeeeeeeee inFamous 2 is the best but you need to play inFamous 1 to understand the story.
I've just began to uncover the pluthra of craptasticly incompetent reviews by the man they call mcshame. haha... yet again he fails to understand game mechanics.
If it expands upon the original and is fun, then how can it be a "disappointing sequel"? Some of those problems he stated are not game-breaking issues at all. I'll take it that the first one's score was somewhat inflated(heck alot of games in the industry are). The blackening of the screen isn't really an issue if you recharge your health; that was the most ridiculous comment I've heard in the review.
Sooo realistically, Which inFamous is worth getting if you could only get one?...Help me out. I just sold my Xbox for a PS3 and have charted the poop out of Uncharted...I'm ready to find another quality title.
@kyleweeeeeeeeee It all depends really.. are you out for some real exhilarating fun? Or just to criticise the hell out of the game's minor, minor, minor, minor flaws just to boost your own ego?
@kyleweeeeeeeeee If you have to get one, get the first. You'll be gutted you didnt enjoy the twists of the first when the second spoils them all for you in the first 30 secs. With that said though, the second game is the better but i suspect that's only if you've played the first.
@Oil_rope_bombs Dont worry he follows up this terrible review with more terrible reviews...
How can someone not like this game? Sure its not the greatest game out there, but Jesus, it's still great. Not an opinion. Fact.
You spend half your combat time staring at a black and white screen? Recharge your friggen health. There is a button for that. Learn how to play the game before reviewing.
infamous 1: meh graphics 1 power per type ( 1 missile 1 grenade etc) albeit upgradable ones. No UGC, No skins to mess around with, city was very gray, not much variation in environments, very glitchy, bad melee infamous 2: great graphics, multiple powers per each type that you can switch out on the fly, Amazing UGC tools, many different skins, city has a lot of personality and life, environments very greatly, only a little bit glitchy, meh melee. My only gripe about infamous 2 was that the plot was worse than the first and the melee system shouldn't have been as sluggish and didn't need to zoom in with the action camera as much as it did. The UGC in infamous makes it deserve at least a 9 since infamous 1 had none. I also felt that infamous 2, since it had bosses and mini-bosses in normal combat, made the game make you think about your approach to combat much more than the first did. infamous 1: 9.0 infamous 2: 7.5?
another awesome PS3 exclusive underated why? because Gamespot is an x-box oriented site, games that receive high scores are multiplatform low quality FPS or barely last gen graphics sandbox games, just remember Silent Hill 2 gamespot review and you'll notice immediately the naive and ignorant judgement of gamespot reviewers.
this is why critic reviews are worth s***. sorry tom but you have no idea what you are talking about in this review and you have no right to tell us what a good game is. p.s. Infamous 2 is freaking amazing. definantly worthy of a 9.
Tom is so brainless.7.5 for infamous 2?from a 9 on infamous1.This guy should def be fired,go get a gardening job or something.
