2 words - complete garbage . . .....

Caveat emptor - since this site and others choose to not bother with PS2 games for the most part - I cannot emphasize strongly enough - DO NOT buy this 'game'.
Well - I only wish that sites were still reviewing PS2 games ahead of time like they used to so I would have known enough to steer clear of this turkey.
I remember when LucasArts games USED to mean fun times and quality. The Fate of Atlantis game from 17 years ago was more inspired and fun than this.
This game is just plain terrible. It is obviously a cash-grab port of the lowest order. There is no quality and it is utterly banal.

Gameplay: Terrible. Very heavily scripted. No opportunity to explore the environment. All exploration is blocked by obstacles and you are led down the single possible path - totally linear. You make no choices other than to move forward to the next scripted button game sequence. Once you get to a certain point, you cannot return. So if you see one of the golden collectibles that you missed, you may not be able to go back for it since you have passed a certain point and are locked into going only forwards. BORING. You aren't really playing the game, just guiding your Indy puppet through his script.Yes - I AM jaded [ over 30 years of gaming can do that . . . ] - we have all played games like this many times before and they have been so much better. This game tries to do too many things and does them all badly. The platforming is poor - you are constantly prompted with button hints and all you need to do is find the correct place to walk to - no jumping up since he just does it. The 'on-rails' parts are poor, like they were thrown in to extend the length of the game. The combat is just plain tedious - throw things, whip around neck, repeat.

Graphics: Terrible. So jaggy and muddy. When you see what they did with God of War and Tomb Raider Legend - this is amateur hour stuff. Looks like what you would have seen 7 years ago.

Sound: passable. Voicing out of sync. Overall pretty uninspiring.

Overall: If you are a diehard Indy fan you may want to rent this, but I really wouldn't bother. I only want to finish the game just to almost get my money's worth out of it. Watch the movies again if you need an Indy fix.
