Whilst it does have issues, primarily the totally unreliable healing methods - the game does have its moments.

User Rating: 5 | Chou Jigen Game Neptune PS3
I don't really feel the gamespot rating of 3 is really fair in terms of the overall game, I'd say the game is more of a niche market title, especially for otaku fans. That being said, the game does have several elements which do drag the game down such as the Clione grinding and very unreliable healing, perhaps the healing part of the game is which is perhaps the worst aspect as not only you have no control over it, even when you have a 100% chance to use healing abilities...even then it feels like its not really guaranteed.

Some of the cut scenes and story modes are pretty funny, taking many pot shots at the gaming industry and anime industry - it's enough to make the game somewhat more fun to see what happens next.

I could go on and on here, specifying parts of the game which work and don't work, overall ~ all's you need to know is that the rating of 5 sums it up - Some parts of the game and aspects are pretty fun, other aspects don't really help the game at all and definitely are a no-no.

My biggest gripes are with the goddess and share grinding, the extra characters really serve no purpose since they are aquired literally at the very end of the game, and do not carry over into new game+ making them really, just for trophy hunters.

And the final gripe is the extreme cost of the DLC content, most of which really doesn't serve much purpose such as extra cute costumes. Overall, the game is worth picking up for RPG and Otakus if you are going to complete the trilogy, but that being said ~ MK1 requires patience and really doesn't reflect well on the others in the series.
