In short. Its 5$. (400ms points) Buy it.
If you at all liked the game "Enslaved: Odyssey to the West" (which is a superb platformer), youll enjoy Hydrophobia to some extent. The 2 games are very different , but have the same play style in mind. I played this straight through in 2 settings. Probably about 7 hours or so of gameplay. But worth 5$ for sure. The only problem is...the company that made it is out of business. This disappoints me.
Gameplay- Solid. Fun. The water gives you a different flavor of gameplay so to speak. Camera angles werent an issue for me at all. The controls worked fine. Felt familiar in the control scheme. It was a tad repetitive at points but didnt bother me much. No where near as bad as the first assassins creed. I think the game had great atmosphere.
Story- It lacked overall.... But this was supposed to be a trilogy that filled in the gaps. Sadly that day will probably never come. The story was there, and there are collectibles that you can find that can give you insight on certain aspects of the story. (much like in dead space). The story was enough that it kept me intrigued. The game ends abruptly with a cliffhanger of sorts that left me wanting to play more! I felt connected to some degree to the main character by the end of it all.

I demo'ed the game when it was initially released way back when. I liked it then, but at the time didnt have the extra cash to buy it. Every time I had some MS points to use, something new and shiny would have just been released and while id think back to hydrophobia and how much I enjoyed the demo, the newer release would always tempt me more. After I saw the 5$ price drop I had to get it. I wasnt disappointed. The only disappointment is that the maker is closed down and we will probably never get the sequels to this one. At any rate, Id like to thank Dark Energy Digital for an enjoyable 7 hours of my life. Thank you guys.
