Hoyle Card Games 2012 continues with the line of Hoyle Card Games but takes leaps and bounds in the WRONG direction.

I do not know what happened to these games in the last couple of years, but the Hoyle Card Games have fluctuated heavily in quality. The 2012 version of Hoyle Card Games is the worst edition yet. I have the 2011 version which was great in a lot of ways but has it's bugs. Games have the achievement/point systems which are pretty cool, except THEY DON'T WORK. 2011 had this problem with one or two games where the "achievements" would not be recognized for just those one or two games. However, 2012's issue is worse because not only do some games not have any achievement detection, the ones that do have only PARTIAL detection.

I'm not going to lie, 2011 was far better because it also had a ton more games. Poker enthusiasts will not be happy knowing they can only play 5-card in 2012 where the previous version had six or seven versions including Hold 'Em and Omaha, etc. They cut games like President (which I found addicting), Tarot, and others. The video poker and video blackjack are also NOT in 2012. I am not pleased with 2012 but I gave it a 2/10 because they made only one real improvement that is worth it to me which is the cribbage board. The cribbage boards in previous games have been (excluding 2004) awful. You cannot see the pegs on the board until the move. This game fixed that issue, big time. It does not, however, make this game worth buying. I am keeping 2011 and until an unbroken version comes out, I'm not going to purchase any further Hoyle Cards, this was unacceptable.
